Dania Uritskiy, LICSW

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I obtained my BSW from the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. and my MSW from the University of Maryland Baltimore in Baltimore, MD. I am passionate about nature, family, good food, animals, and fitness. Above all else, I am innately curious about others, love to connect with others’ experiences, and begin the partnership with them to help them feel like the best version of themselves. I am humbled to be trusted with starting our partnership as we embark on this  journey of self-exploration.

My therapy philosophy

My approach to therapy is based on a mixture of relational psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, strengths-based therapy, multicultural therapy, and generational narrative therapy, which helps you understand how past traumas or events affect you in the present We will explore the dynamics and patterns of relationships through the connection between us in session and work on different activities that will help you change your environment, self-perception, and gradually feel safe being in relationship.

Being a relational therapist, I view our human-to-human connection  as the most valuable tool for  healing in therapy. My approach to therapy starts by creating a relationship between myself and my clients, giving them  the time to reflect, grow, and become the person they want to become. In my work, I aim to help individuals recognize the importance of self-care, explore traumatic experiences, create boundaries, learn healthy communication, strengthen current relationships, and re-center their relationship with themselves.

I work with people struggling  with anxiety and trauma, helping them build  awareness and kindness with themselves , and I also specialize in helping people explore their multi-cultural identities. Through a warm connection, I will help you explore your life, start the healing work from previous trauma, and improve your self-love.  I am also particularly interested in working with individuals  who have newly immigrated or grew up in a multicultural household. I also help people navigate the tension  between their  family’s values, American ideals , and their own personal values.  I can also provide therapy in both English and Spanish to help  create a deeper understanding and connection.

I hope this therapeutic space can support you in creating time to practice self-care and expand your general wellness. We all  have many roles and sometimes our  mental health (just like our  physical health) might be pushed back. That is when we start to feel empty and we notice a shift in other areas of our life. Our time together can be the recharging you need  to feel your best so you can  continue your other roles--including the role for yourself.
